GRAND PRIX PARK

Public BBQ

Grand Prix Park impresses with quality playground equipment and a lovely lake-side walking path, though someone clearly didn't think through the layout. The BBQ area sits frustratingly far from the playground - you'll need the peripheral vision of a hawk to watch kids while cooking. The bike track is brilliant for wobbly riders, and there's proper green space for picnic rugs. Wildlife around the lake adds charm, and the Australian Grand Prix heritage gives it character. Just accept you'll be sprinting between barbie and playground like a demented relay runner. Despite the planning oversight, it's a solid family destination with genuine quality equipment rather than the usual council cheapskates' special.
